FLSA classification: Full-time | Non-exempt

Schedule: This is a full-time position expected to work 40 hours/week. Normal office hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Candidates must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to meet project demands including evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.

Founded in 1994 and housed on the former Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum is a diverse non-profit community organization dedicated to unlocking dreams of flight through exhibits, local events, and educational programming. Each year we welcome roughly 160,000 visitors representing all 50 states and dozens of countries internationally. Summary
The Marketing Communications Coordinator provides support, creativity, and expertise for internal/external marketing and communications to Wings Over the Rockies (Wings) to ensure the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission, vision and values. This individual will report to the Director of Marketing and manage multichannel marketing campaigns including the organization’s brand communication and oversight of: websites, advertising tactics, signage, social media, email, publications and other forms of communication in order to maximize growth, broaden Wings’ audience and increase general brand awareness of Wings. The Marketing Communications Coordinator will be responsible in working with the Marketing team, cross-departmentally and with vendor partners. The candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. The Marketing Communications Coordinator is a member of the Marketing Department and works closely in collaboration with the Senior Content Producer, Marketing & Development Assistant, Membership & Annual Giving Manager, and other cross-departmental teams.

Duties & Responsibilities

Brand
– Oversee brand standard approval process, metadata, uploading and maintaining assets, rights and credit lines
– Generate media/press releases and helps to review content documents across all departments for relevancy, consistency, and brand compliance.
– Perform research on competitors and trends, share findings with the marketing team
– Collect and review social media and email data to continually improve quality and effectiveness of marketing initiatives
– Coordinate print and digital materials at both Wings locations.

Email
– Develop an email marketing strategy including: identifying and implementing need-gaps and methods to ensure maximum benefit out of our email platform and marketing database and campaigns to help drive subscriber engagement, improve CTR and curate more compelling content
– Develop email calendar and draft and schedule email campaigns to Wings’ contact list
– Evaluates and supplies email segmentation when necessary
– Coordinates collection of content, draft and send weekly email update sent to staff, volunteers and board of directors
– Track, measure, evaluate, and analyze email campaigns to draw insights on performance and make on-going improvements.

Social
– Work hand-in-hand with Senior Content Producer and Marketing & Development Assistant to create, plan and schedule interesting and engaging content for social media
– Responsible for developing Wings owned social media channel boosting plan and executing by channel
– Create analytic reports for social media accounts to evaluate engagement and opportunities
– Interact and respond to comments and questions on social media platforms

Website
– Oversee Wings Over the Rockies’ WordPress website(s) and works with Marketing & Development Assistant to make updates including event updates, program and exhibit changes.

Coordinate
– Work with each department and EOF as needed on marketing deliverables and timelines for exhibitions, showcases, programs and events
– Create and coordinate advertising delivery calendar to ensure all assets are created and delivered to appropriate ad partner on time

Working Conditions
Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum operates in an 80-year-old aircraft hangar. Exploration of Flight is located at a busy regional airport. This position may involve occasional field work and out-of-town travel. Environmental conditions may vary.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, or related field preferred
– Marketing experience with a minimum of 2-4 years in marketing communication and coordinating marketing and/or advertising campaigns including website and social media
– Excellent copywriting, editing and written communication skills required
– Self-motivated, energetic, outcome-oriented individual who demonstrates strong interpersonal skills
– Ability to take initiative and work creatively
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Keen eye for graphic design with attention to detail
– Strong organizational and planning skills
– Ability to adapt and pick up new techniques
– Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, like social media, website, content email and SEO
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Ability to handle a number of projects and prioritize work
– Strong computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new applications
– Experience using Mail Chimp, Microsoft Suite, Google Workspace, Buffer, Canva, Altru/Blackbaud (or similar database software), and Adobe Creative Cloud (preferred)
– Proficiency with various social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Reels, Tiktok, etc.
– Knowledge of web-design, HTML, and experience with WordPress CMS required
– Commitment to social inclusion and making the Museum accessible to a wide-ranging audience
– Commitment to the mission of Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum
– Knowledge and interest in aerospace and aviation a plus!
