Position: Museum Intern

Pay Range: Paid- $20/hour with incentives

The goal of this program is to provide a paid, well-rounded experience to undergraduate or graduate students seeking hands-on experience in small, local museums. Responsibilities will include assisting with guided tours, children’s field trips, community programming and special events, archival work, exhibitions, and some guest service.

The internship allows students to complete one major project that will fulfill credit requirements for their specific program and align with the Museums’ needs. Options for projects in summer 2023 are related to the Frisco As I Remember Project in one of three categories- exhibition, community history, or archive.

This internship is for undergraduate or graduate students enrolled in a museum or public history program.

Pay Rate & Schedule:
-This internship is on-site, in-person, and has tentative shared-housing available priced according to pay rate.
-Weekly schedules will vary depending on projects and events, with evening and weekend shifts.
-This internship is 10-13 weeks, with 40 hours a week. Start and end dates will vary based on semester start and end dates.
-Pay will align with the Town of Frisco’s seasonal pay rates for entry-level employees and include seasonal incentives.

About the Museum:
The Frisco Historic Park & Museum sits on historic Main Street in Frisco, Colorado with eleven historic structures spread over an acre of public park space with a 12,000-piece collection, serving a community of approximately 3,000 people. The Town of Frisco municipality operates the Museum under the Recreation and Culture Department with three full-time and two part-time staff members. The 2023 Frisco As I Remember Project is a celebration of the Museum’s 40th anniversary through a series of history-gathering events and community engagement initiatives, culminating in a 40th-anniversary exhibit at the end of 2023.
