Museum Aide I – Visitor Services Coordinator

Salary : $12.32-$13.29 hourly

Job Summary:
The Museum Aide – Visitor Services Coordinator is a variable hourly position working primarily at the Greeley History Museum on Thursdays, Fridays and/or Saturdays between the hours of 9:30 am – 4:30 pm, with the possibility of additional hours to support special events and programming as needed. The aide’s primary function is to perform day-to-day operations of the museum including opening/closing galleries; cleaning/sanitizing highly trafficked areas on a regular rotation; admissions and gift shop sales, and organization and stocking merchandise. Additional duties include cash handling and financial reporting. Incumbent will be cross-trained to run the admissions desk at Centennial Village Museum to work there if needed. This position reports to the Curator of Exhibits.

Experience, Knowledge, Skills:
Demonstrated excellent ability in customer service
Ability to adapt verbal and visual communication to diverse audience groups
Follow written and verbal instructions, policies, and procedures
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of basic accounting and cash handling

Essential Functions:
Unlock/lock the museum and turn on/off gallery exhibit lights daily
Serve as lobby receptionist answering the main telephone number and assisting the public by answering their questions
Use Point of Sales system to complete admissions and gift shop transactions
Clean/Sanitize highly trafficked area on rotation
Perform daily cash counts for deposit
Work independently as well as with others

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
Frequent and heavy interaction with museum visitors
Primarily stationary at desk
May be required to move or transport merchandise
Frequent use of computers and Point of Sale system
Must effectively communicate with site visitors in-person and by telephone
