The Museum Program Specialist seeks to engage, celebrate and build community through Lakewood’s museum programming. – The primary goal of the Museum Program Specialist is to expand museum audiences and increase revenue in a way that supports LHC’s master plan and mission. The Museum Program Specialist creates educational opportunities that build on LHC’s strengths by providing high quality programs and services to the community through developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating a wide range of museum programs. This position serves as a part of the Lakewood Heritage Center team within the Heritage, Culture and the Arts Division of the Department of Community Resources. The Museum Program Specialist also implements current programming that includes outreach trunk programs, story times and monthly arts, crafts and heritage programs. In addition, the position supports the implementation of on-site building tours and school field trips. The Museum Program Specialist position acts as a community liaison with City of Lakewood colleagues, local partners, schools, and businesses to further expand the reach of services provided.
