The Colorado-Wyoming Association of Museums awards scholarships to museum professionals to support attendance at the CWAM Annual Meeting. Funds to support the Annual Meeting Scholarship are raised through the Silent Auction and private donations.

Each scholarship recipient will receive a meeting registration fee waiver plus the possibility of a cash grant to help offset expenses. Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously received a scholarship.

Scholarship recipients are required to attend the majority of sessions, including CWAM-hosted dinners or lunches. Following the conference, scholarship recipients are also required to write a short article covering a session they attended at the annual meeting. The article will be posted to the CWAM website and featured in a CWAM e-blast.

Application Items

Application requires a completed application form and a brief letter of recommendation from your institution’s director, a board member, a professor, or other supervising authority.

2025 Scholarships

In 2025, CWAM’s scholarship committee awarded eight Annual Meeting attendee scholarships covering a wide range of museums and career experiences. Scholarship recipients attend the Keynote Session, the Business Lunch, and complete one shift assisting the annual meeting team at the registration table or in a similar activity. Following the conference, scholarship recipients wrote a short article for the CWAM e-blast covering a session they attended at the annual meeting.
