Visitor Experience Liaison – 08913
The CU Art Museum is now accepting applications for a Visitor Experience Liaison. This position is responsible for shaping and implementing policies and procedures to facilitate visitor services and security as directed by the Director of Visitor Experience. The position is involved in hiring, training, and overseeing our student workers in their roles as museum attendants, implementing visitor evaluation procedures, maintaining timely and accurate attendance records, implementing security procedures and scheduling group tours and course visits to the museum’s exhibitions. In concert with another Visitor Services/Security Guard, the position opens and closes the museum and its exhibitions. This position assists with special events and monitoring the facilities.

What your key responsibilities will be:
Museum Attendant Supervisor
Work with the Director of Visitor Experience to hire, supervise, train and schedule student museum attendants.
Understand exhibition and program content. Duties will include: training students on topics including security, exhibition interpretation and evaluation implementation.
Schedule students to ensure adequate coverage for security and interpretive needs.
Ensure students accurately complete tasks and time-sheets.
Serve as the point-person for solving problems faced by attendants and the public, contacting other CU Art Museum Staff, campus police, etc., as appropriate and implementing emergency plans as needed.
Implement evaluation procedures and processes using formal and informal instruments including surveys, timing and tracking trials.
Count and maintain log of visitor attendance records, regularly update shared documents and work with Director of Visitor Experience on reporting.
Facilitate visitor access, reception and orientation.
Provide information to visitors, telephone reception and staff appointment reception.
Assist with special events as needed.
Scheduling and Reporting
Work with senior staff to schedule tours and course visits.
Participate in senior level discussions providing feedback on how visitors are responding to our exhibitions and programs.
Actively inform new policies and procedures.

What you will need:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of demographic groups in a courteous and professional manner.
Proficient with word-processing and database software.
Museum operations knowledge.
Team-oriented and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
What we’d like you to have:
Master’s degree in museum studies or related field.
3-5 years of experience in visitor services, volunteer management or museum evaluation.
Preferred qualifications may be used to further reduce the pool of applicants to those who are most highly qualified.
